The Count of Monte Cristo

This four-week series on The Count of Monte Cristo is about God's Presence and Power in our lives. As you move through the lessons you will learn about 1) God's power to help us forgive; 2) God's presence with us always; 3) God's comfort during difficult times; and 4) God's pursuing love.

Lesson 1: When Life Turns on Us--This lesson's goal is to show that it is only through God's power in our lives that we can resist envy, respond to betrayal, and, ultimately, forgive those who have hurt us. (Matthew 5:38-48)

Lesson 2: The Writings on the Wall--This lesson's goal is to help us understand that God is always with us, even though He may seem absent during times of pain and suffering. (2 Corinthians 1:3-7; Isaiah 42:16; Deuteronomy 31:8)

Lesson 3: The Power of Presence--This lesson's goal is to help us understand that God often uses people to give us comfort during times of loneliness and despair. (Hebrews 10:19-25)

Lesson 4: God's Words Our Mouths--This lesson's goal is to show that God's love for us is so deep and active that it pursues us through doubt, disillusionment, and darkness. (John 20:19-30; Psalm 139:1-12)
