Product Summary

This unit covers the five Sundays beginning with Proper 25 and ending with Reign of Christ Sunday. It is designed to help students understand God's restoration, loving God and one another, our reliance on God, the end times, and Christ's eternal reign as king.

Lesson 1: Blind Man Begging--This lesson's theme is the God who restores and meets our most basic need. Though we may endure trials, our God leads us back to himself. God will not leave us or abandon us in our times of trial and testing-instead He will come and restore our lives and relationships as we trust and surrender to Him in spite of the suffering. (Job 42:1-6, 10-17; Ps 126; Heb 7:23-28; Mk 10:46-52)

Lesson 2: Love Letters--This lesson's theme is the Greatest Commandment. From the beginning, God's intention is for us to be loved by Him and to love Him in return. If we do this, we will fulfill the rest of the law. (Deut 6:1-9; Ps 119:1-8; Heb 9:11-14; Mk 12:28-34)

Lesson 3: Widows and Orphans--This lesson's theme is God helps the helpless. In ancient Israel, a widow was the ultimate example of powerlessness. Since wealth and property passed through the men in this culture, to be a widow or orphan meant poverty and dependence upon others to survive. (1 Ki 17:8-16; Ps 146; Heb 9:24-28; Mk 12:38-44)

Lesson 4: The End of the World (as we know it)--This lesson's theme is signs of the end times. There is much speculation about the future and the end times. The Bible does not tell us everything but it does tell us that those who know God and trust Him will be saved, and raised to new life. (Dan 12:1-3; Ps 16; Heb 10:11-14, 19-25; Mk 13:1-8)

Lesson 5: Hallelujah! He Reigns!--This lesson's theme is the eternal kingdom. God has established His kingdom (through the line of David) making his Son Jesus Christ king of all. And His Kingdom will know no end. (Dan 7:9-10, 13-14; Ps 93; Rev 1:4b-8; Jn 18:33-37)
