Product Summary

This unit is designed to help students pursue the message of truth as they read it in Scripture and as they see it lived in the lives of your community of believers. In these lessons your students will: 1) explore God's call to consider the truth of the messages our minds receive from the world and discover how God equips us to do it; 2) understand what it means to choose idols and ideals worth looking up to; 3) learn to discern the alternative worldviews expressed in music lyrics; and 4) discover how the power of movies, videos, and television media need to be filtered by God's truth.

Lesson 1: Seeing Things Through God's Eyes--This lesson explores how God calls us and equips us to consider carefully the messages we receive from the world. (1 John 2:15-17; Romans 13:1-7; 12:1-2; Philippians 4:6-9)

Lesson 2: The One True Role Model--This lesson is designed to teach teens how to choose role models who exhibit godly ideals in the course of ordinary life. (Ephesians 5:1-21; Psalm 101)

Lesson 3: Why Should the Devil Have All the Good Music?--This lesson helps teens learn to discern the alternative worldviews expressed in music lyrics. (1 Timothy 1:3-7; 2 Timothy 4:1-5; Philippians 4:8-9)

Lesson 4: The God Filter--This lesson is designed to help teens see the worldviews that are expressed in TV and movies. (Colossians 3:1-17)
