Product Summary

This unit covers Lent Sundays 4, 5, and 6 and Easter Day in Lectionary Year B. It is designed to help students understand the events leading up to the last days of Jesus' life on earth.

Lesson 1: Lift Up Your Eyes--This lesson's theme is Rebellion and Redemption. When we rebel against God, we face the consequences of that rebellion. Even in the midst of our rebellion, God provides a way to be saved. Do we understand the process of salvation and redemption? Have we looked to Jesus on the cross to deliver us from rebellion and sin? (Numbers 21:4-9; Psalm 107:1-3, 17-22; Ephesians 2:1-10; John 3:14-21)

Lesson 2: Inside Out--This lesson's theme is A New Covenant--The Law Within. God changes His covenant because His people have not kept it. How can a young person keep their way pure? What does it mean to have God's law written within? (Jeremiah 31:31-34; Psalm 119:9-16; Hebrews 5:5-10; John 12:20-33)

Lesson 3: Hosanna, Hosanna!--This lesson's theme is Recognizing the King. Jesus rides into Jerusalem fulfilling prophecy, and He is hailed as king. His disciples did not understand the significance of what was happening until they looked back on it. Do we understand what it means for Jesus to be hailed as king? Do we know the meaning of crying Hosanna? (Psalm 118:1-2, 19-29; Mark 11:1-11)

Lesson 4: I Believe!--This lesson's theme is Jesus Christ is alive. All Christian hope is based on this one truth: Jesus is alive! Jesus Christ died for our sins and rose again from the dead. What difference does my belief that Jesus is alive make in my day-to-day life? (Acts 10:34-43; Psalm 118:1-2,14-24; 1 Corinthians 15:1-11; Mark 16:1-8)
