Psalms Pt. 2

How can what David sang about with his harp relate to you and your students? Have you ever felt lonely? Misunderstood? Pressured? As if God doesn't hear you? You and your class may have more in common with David than you think! For you and your students, a study of the Psalms will be an opportunity to celebrate and find a guide to an intimate relationship with God. Explore together with your students the history of celebration and worship of our Lord. As you do, you'll not be able to escape hearing God and His people share these timeless truths: 1) God hears and answers us; 2) God is our Source of strength and protection in good times and bad; 3) praising God gives us joy and helps us focus on Him; 4) Thanking God for who He is and what He has done for us puts our thinking and actions about the future into proper perspective; and 5) God can be trusted to respond to us with unfailing love and redemption.

Lesson 2: Keep Your Head Up and Your Knees Down--Praising God moves us to think about Him and is an important part of learning to listen to Him. (Psalm 81)

Lesson 3: A Look Back--Looking back over our lives helps us see how God has been faithful to us and reminds us of His love for us. (Psalm 100)

Lesson 4: There's No Voice Mail in Heaven--Feelings of loneliness come to everyone. God understands, is always with us, and wants to help us manage those feelings. (Psalm 22)

Lesson 5: Hope of Deliverance--God can be trusted to respond to our need for mercy, giving us hope that we can share with others. (Psalm 130)
